|Another close shave
Almost missed my train home last night from Old Trafford. After a really steady journey to get there, it was a bit of a mare on the way home when the returning train to Manchester Picadilly to the ground was taking ages and ages. We got to the station in time, but only just got on the Stoke on Trent train, which I assumed to be the last one. When I say only just, I mean the Police stopped me from going on but then fortunatly allowed me and one other person on. Could have been a bit of a panic.
A great day out and one of the best pubs I have ever been on a trip to another ground in Sam Platts. A full report will hopefully follow in the next few days.

What a bad week to be a Stoke supporter. We lost two points at Luton when we should have beat them with two late goals that never were. The less said about the Tuesday night cup match against Darlington, the better, and then that was compounded by a lacklusture performance today.
The Pulis haters were taking up most of the Radio Phone In airtime. However its not fair to judge him on two back to back games, when you consider the performances before that.
This next few weeks sees some more new ground visits. The Shrewsbury trip is now off because it has been changed to the Tuesday night which I am working. However, I am visiting Burton Albion on Monday instead. It should be a great game in a neat and tidy stadium.
|What an odd day!
Where do I start about today? Although most of it will be included in my review of Kenilworth Road talk about a bad journey. We went down the M6 and did not get caught in much "V" traffic I dont think, but the roadworks by the Bescot Stadium delayed us big time... the best was still to come however!
i am sure everyone has been delayed on the train, been stuck in traffic, but todays was an exception.
Travelling down the M1 towards junction 13, chilling out on the coach, a sudden loud bang and rattle and something hits the window. i look up and see a tyre tread flying over the carriageway away from our coach. Turns out that the coach had a blow out and how on earth there was not a major accident is beyond me as we discovered shortly after we pulled off to wait for the police and replacement transport that the panel on the coach where the wheel arch is (or was) had flown off across the M1 as well!
Fortunatly, we got to the ground for 2.55 thanks to the local police giving us an escort all the way down the hard shoulder of the M1 to avoid the miles of tailbacks!
Finally finished putting all the content onto the changed layout. Also quite pleased that I managed to sort out the livejournal settings, to make it (sort of) match up with the site colours. I think it looks better, but if you have any comments please email me.
Quite looking forward to my trip to Luton tommorow. It is my first visit to the ground, I am just hoping that the coach goes on the A50/M1 and does not get stuck in the traffic going to the V festival. I have seen some great pictures on other websites, and am quite looking forward to uploading mine tommorow.
Just registered for a live journal account, after seeing it being used on the excellent tims92.co.uk website, I thought it would be a great way to manage my own blog
